Secrets of Bird Flight Revealed

Scientists believe they could be a step closer to solving the mystery of how the first birds took to the air. A study published in the journal Nature suggests that the key to understanding the evolution of bird flight is the angle at which a bird flaps its wings.

I fail to see why the mythical "Mother Nature" gets the credit, for something a loving Creator God designed into almost all birds.

Of course they fly, that is what they are meant to do, except in the case of birds too large like NZ kiwi, moa and a few others.

The simple adaptive rule: If you don't use it, you lose it, applied to these non-flying birds of New Zealand, and elsewhere.
