Corporate Citizenship

The city of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has grown up around a quartzite quarry and concrete plant originally founded in the 1900s. Urban sprawl created a unique opportunity for the company to become good corporate citizens. They put into place a set of practices to minimize their impact on the surrounding community, including enclosing their screening towers to control dust and digging a tunnel to shorten the distance required to haul their product.

Heck with todays technology and bonding agents that dust could be made into a product and sold. Use in concrete mix there is a shortage as china continues to grow.

So many possiblities there. They would be losing valuable materials letting that dust just fly away.
