This teddy bear knows when you've been drinking

Posted June 06, 2008 10:28 AM

From Crave: The gadget blog:

If you think GPS breathalyzer devices are intrusive, you'll love this next item from Japan. Engineers at iXs Research are developing a talking teddy bear that serves as an in-car navigation system, giving directions while sniffing out any alcohol on your breath with a sensor embedded in its neck, asking "You haven't been drinking, have you?" As if that weren't irritating enough, this backseat-driving teddy also has sensors designed to detect reckless driving, such as sudden braking and acceleration ("Watch out!"). And as a "bonus," according to Pink Tentacle, the bear will give information about landmarks in the vicinity when his head is patted. We don't know whether to be annoyed or creeped out.

Next modification for this "pet"

sensor for unknown perfume: Is this lady your wife? Isn't she?

report to patrol officer when driver is stopped (loudly): Sir! This man ...xxxxxxx....etc

in case driver has teared off teddy's head: Are you some vexed? Aren't you?

Del, your turn...

Ok, let this creation is a rat which looks like bear. But as here's presumed something like as dialog it's up to us how to reply politely:

Have you been drinking? --- Yes. But I am not drunk.

Watch up! --- Thank you, Teddy, I will.

Is this lady your wife? --- No, but I've forgotten to inform you that time to time I'm training myself as taxi driver.

Are you some vexed with me? --- NOOO-O-O!!!

caramba

ps With patrol officer --- no one chance,i.e. definitely kaput. You're right,Brick, it's not the kind T bear.

it would be better if Teddy was my friend, so I say, " hey Teddy, where are the babes tonight". He says, " take a left on Harding St. in 300 ft."......

if you won't call him the rat. Here is a chance maybe to get him as a friend. What kind of sensors will be applied for this "take a left on Harding St. in 300 ft."?

I would be named this gadget as anti-Teddy. Why not? We're allowed to use anti-radars. Why dont use this anti-bear device in ours cars. I'm wondering only how these "friends" will coexist in ours cars --- one couple on front panel and another one on backseat? Zoo!

Hardly. Too simply and risky to be cheated. If only you could accept every GPS device owner as babe ! LOL
