Protecting Cells from Radiation

From Scientific American:

Scientists remain on the lookout for novel drugs that combat radiation damage. One of the most promising is CBLB 502, made by Cleveland Biolabs in Buffalo, N.Y. In the April 11 Science, researchers report that the drug, also called Protectan, enabled 87 percent of mice to survive lethal doses of radiation, although it worked only if injected within an hour before exposure.

If that only works when injected an hour before exposure, guess who is going to be reserved for this, if it becomes needed:

Bankers, Industrialists, Military, Police, and of course the Politicians, all the people responsible for the mess society has gotten itself into.
