From The Engineer:

Edinburgh-based Microsphere Technology has signed an intellectual property licence deal worth in excess of $1m with Trelleborg Engineered Systems, part of Sweden's Trelleborg Group. There have been paints which used microspheres as part of the recipe.

The advantage of the 'flying' (except in aerospace applications as per the article), which probably should read 'floating' type, will mean less stirring of the paint in the container during application.

Existing solid glass microsphere paints have an extremely hard coating, useful for abrasive situations.

Kind Regards....
