Solar Sailor Sun Sails To Be Fitted to Chinese Cargo Ships

China has a distinct advantage, in not being crippled with outmoded factories or machinery.

We can expect to see much more use of solar energy, whether by sail and/or solar cells.

I can remember, at least 25 years ago, the Japanese (I think) tried a prototype of one of these types of vessels. I only ever saw it once in the MER (Marine Engineers Review), photograph and all.

I cannot recall ever seeing anything about it again.............I assume that it must have been a dismal failure.

With the improvements in technology now...........who knows what the results will be..............I only hope the sails don't fall off, catch fire, or something else.

Please pardon my fecetiousness...............have not had too much joy with Chinese equipment in the past two months or so.
