Free Software Gets An Education

Posted November 12, 2008 10:42 AM

From ScienceDaily: Latest Science News:

Companies, organizations and citizens spend billions of dollars a year on licensing fees for proprietary software. Could that money not be put to better use developing free software alternatives and local expertise? For that to happen, teachers, software developers, researchers, IT managers and citizens in general need to be educated about what free (also known as libre or open source) software is, how to use it and how to get the most benefit from it. But until now educational content and training resources about software that is free to use, copy, change, study and distribute have been woefully hard to find.

The article author is very side at view on the education.

Most likely do managers mistake the education. people attend courses in the school is due to find job easily for one reason, another reason is teacher can supervises their study so that they cannt be laze on the bed or in front of tv set.

if one adault wishes to get more knowledge. he can acquire from internet today easily. neednt spend too much.

haha, I shall brag a little, just like in this cr4, some peple can and alread get much basical useful knowledges from me and other enthusiasm without any cent. they even dont vote a good answer for our work. haha.

as I know less unit would recruit a man who has no school certificate. only when people get a job, then they meet difficult in their work, they wiil aks for help on the internet. because less his colleagues like to teach them in their unit.

Imagine what people would have said 30 or 40 years ago if you told them a "1" and a "0" would be worth billions.........

FREE SOFTWARE THAT EVERYBODY MIGHT ACCEPT AND RUN ON THEIR COMPUTERS IS A WONDERFUL PLAYGROUND FOR HACKERS AND VIRUSES RUN AMUCK.

PRESENT DAY HACKERS, VIRUSES AND SPAM WOULD COMPARE TO FREE EVERYWHERE SOFTWARE AND OPEN SOURCE PROGRAMS

JUST LIKE COMPARING THE FIRE OF A MATCH TO THE SUN.
