When we grow some balls and use the weapons that we pay Billions for the bad guys will straighten up a bit. This is the same as how we walk around, rifle in hand, kicking in doors in Iraq and Afghanistan. They were doing that long before we were a country. They kill each other or any other target of opportunity. It's what they do.
In the gulf of Aden we're letting "Skinnies" / "AK Monkey pumpers" in small boats harass us all, we look like chumps. I say declare some sort of martial law where any unauthorized vessel approaching a merchant vessel gets sunk, the sharks will get rid of them.
In war you don't go to a knife fight with a knife. You observe from a remote location and destroy everything alive until your out of bad guys.

I agree it does look impressive, and may be undetectable by radar, but I haven't heard a silent or nearly silent water jet drive yet. Perhaps they are so well made and quiet that it's there and I'm just not hearing it?

If the US tracks all of the world's ships by sound of the props and motors why can't they handle a bunch of pirates with third rate tech where we already have ships in the Middle East?
A phone call is all it would take for whom ever's patrolling to fix that issue. Somalia's political problems are another can of worms.
Jet drives are noisy but the speed makes them viable
