I've had a few close scrapes and have been involved in some nasty
collisions, but I don't know anyone who has had a wreck like this and
lived to tell the tale. Dave owned a beautiful Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet in
the early 80s.
One December day shortly after switching to studded
tires for the winter, he went into a corner carrying a bit too much
speed and hit the cable guardrail. He woke up a minute later with two
guys yelling at him, amazed that he was alive. He had slammed his face
into the steering wheel pretty hard, but otherwise he was ok. Truly
