Nokia Phone Still Works After Week Inside a Fish

Posted March 02, 2009 9:01 AM

From CNET News.com:

When it comes to losing your cell phone in the sea, you expect it to be buried there. You certain don't expect it to turn up a week later inside a fish. And you most definitely don't expect it to still be working. However, British businessman Andrew Cheatle appears to be the owner of the most resilient Nokia 1600 in the world. He told the Sun newspaper, "I was messing about with my dog, and my phone must have fallen out and been swept out in the swell. I kept calling it, but I gave up hope after a couple of days."

In the competitive cell phone business, this will probably launch a new buzzword specification:

hiC - "hours in Cod".

As in:

"Have you seen the new J-Phone? It's really great! 20 hour 2G, 400 standby, 50 hiC!"

So if you happened to be scuba diving and the Cod swam near you while the guy who lost the phone was calling his phone. Would you have heard the phone ring?

I didn't hear the phone ring, but the fish did say, "It's for you."

Guess the fish should have called home and told them he was going to be a SPECIAL GUEST for DINNER at someones house that day.
