New Orangutan Population Found in Indonesia

AP - Conservationists have discovered a new population of orangutans in a remote, mountainous corner of Indonesia — perhaps as many as 2,000 — giving a rare boost to one of the world's most endangered great apes.

I heard about this yesterday on NPR and am very, very happy that there is at least this one bit of good news in regard to endangered species.

Considering what is happening to gorillas in war-torn areas of Africa, it is heartening to know that there is at least one little corner of the earth which human activity has not yet despoiled.
