Lose Your Amazon Account and Your Kindle Dies

Posted April 17, 2009 8:58 AM

From Slashdot:

If you buy a Kindle and some Kindle ebooks from Amazon, be careful of returning items. Amazon decided that one person had returned too many things, so they suspended his Amazon account, which meant that he could no longer buy any Kindle books, and any Kindle subscriptions he's paid for stop working. After some phone calls, Amazon granted him a one-time exception and reactivated his account again.

Who cares???

I get most of my books from public domain, downloaded through one of my pc's to the Kindle. The only thing I get through Amazon is my monthly Analog magazine and I wouldn't be too upset if I couldn't get that.

I'm old enough that I figure I will never, ever get through all the public domain science fiction stuff available out there.

Out of curiosity, where are you getting your public domain sci-fi?

Here's one

Here's another

Just google "science fiction ebook public domain"

That'll keep you busy for awhile.

Very nice. Thank you.

I was going to suggest Project Gutenberg to you, but obviously you have already found it.

I was hoping to expand my resource list. Any more?

Yep, very familiar with Project Gutenberg.

Those are the only two links I've kept track of. I tend to just Google rather than keep extensive bookmarks.

Sorry.
