"Space Tornadoes" Power the Northern Lights

Thanks to a quintet of satellites and a backup posse of ground-based telescopes, researchers have gotten their best look ever at how auroras-also known as the southern and northern lights-begin to form in space. The dazzling light displays are provoked by "space tornadoes," researchers say.

It's an interesting coincidence that 2012 is also the end of time according to the Aztec (or is it Mayan?) calandar.

Well look at it this way . Either the Mayans are right or they're wrong . If they're wrong, then there's nothing to worry about . If they're right, we'll all be dead anyway . Either way, why worry about it since there's nothing anyone can do about it anyway .
