Robot Rights – The Next Generation

Equal opportunity under the law. The logic of that concept rings loud and clear. Every person should have equal rights. But how about every robot? This item from BBC News examines the possible outcome of modern technology's effort to create artificial intelligence. Half a century from now, those creations may challenge their status as non-persons.

Not again! The best I can say about A.I. rights is that 50 years from now I will be dead!! (with a bit of luck).

As robots have no emmotional capabilities......why should they have rights ?

To develop any emmotional responses, reward systems, pain, whatever is the

real challenge to developers.....until some sort of simple emmotional response can

be created.......it's still just a computer !
