Human Exposure To Controversial Chemical BPA May Be Greater Than Dose Considered Safe

More fear mongering.

The company I work for is about to open a water filtration division, so I have had to do quite a bit of research on the type of 18.9 liter bottles we should supply customers. We decided not to go the polycarbonate bottle route. When you look at Coke and Pepsi concerned about damage control with having used BPA bottles, I think there is more to this than fear mongering.

Return to glass bottles. It is easily recyclable and inert. Cost is higher but that doesn't seem to be a problem for bottled water selling for more than gasoline. This "green" angle might be the marketing edge that will bring you success.

To contradict "guest," it wouldn't be the first time that something was discovered much later to be a bad thing!!!

I listened to a documentary on BPA and similar plastics last night on CBC - very sad. It highlighted the effects on boys, and fewer males being born as a result of endocrine disrupting plastics in our environment. It's in shampoo and conditioner too, absorbed through the skin... Doesn't seem like such a great idea, after all....

And it's used to coat food cans and soda cans!
