Hemmings Motor News Blog

Hemmings Motor News has been around since 1954. We're proud of our heritage, but we're also more than the Hemmings full of classifieds that your father subscribed to. Aside from new editorial content every month in Hemmings, we have three monthly magazines: Hemmings Muscle Machines, Hemmings Classic Car and Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car.

While our editors traverse the country to find the best content for those magazines, we find other oddities related to the old-car hobby that we really had no place for - until now. With this blog, we're giving you a behind-the-scenes look at what we see and what we do during the course of putting out some of the finest automotive magazines you'll ever read.

What Has Three Wheels, Two Cylinders, and Flies?

Posted July 07, 2009 12:01 AM by dstrohl

More than a motorcycle, not quite a car, there's nothing conventional about a Morgan three-wheeler. Stubby, low and purposeful, it's J.A.P. or Matchless V-twin slung naked and aggressively in front of a beautifully rounded radiator, a calico-ripping exhaust note and, of course, a single rear wheel almost concealed by the beetle or barrel-backed tail section – the message is clear. This is not your ordinary sort of motor car.

Here's the Modern Version. Has anyone tried one of these yet. I'd like to hear their opinions.

Can am held an event in the parking lot of our local Honda dealer.

They let a group at a time run a course inside the parking lot to get us used to the feel. You then had the opportunity to take a road trip with two of the reps.

First issue for me, You are not able to lean into the turn, the machine rolls out!

Second, One brake! Only a pedal on the right. They set it up like a car.

For the size of the V-twin inside, it felt slow, held back. I believe I rode a 900.

After just the main points, I would rather purchase a nice convertable for the same $.
