Roboticists Argue for Robot System of Ethics

Since scientists are out to kill us again, what with flesh-eating robots, ethicists and roboticists have called for revisions to Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics: A human-robot co-existence society could emerge by 2030, says Chen in his paper. Already iRobot's Roomba robotic vacuum cleaner and Scooba floor cleaner are a part of more than 3 million American households. The next generation robots will be more sophisticated and are expected to provide services such as nursing, security, housework and education.

AI and I-robot is today what star-wars and other sci-fi movies were many moons ago. Alot of what was science fiction in movies years ago are "reality" today.

Robots, laugh as you want, but...

In an earlier thread asking Can Morals Be Programed? this very topic was discussed. Is this synchronicity or an evil plot of the robots running this forum? (No offense meant by that. All done in good humour.)

I think it is important for our previous discussions to be references.. and I agree with you that it is annoying, just when you think you have got things settled, someone asks the same damn question without even looking... or maybe its just art imitating CR4..
