NASA Convinced it Can Find Earth-Like Planets

The Kepler Space Telescope has shown itself capable of finding Earth-like planets - if they exist - by detecting the atmosphere of a known gas giant. The discovery was made just ten days after launch, even before the calibration and data analysis software were finished.

Also NASA announced that based on preliminary information gathered by an 5 year / $184 million dollar study involving scientests from around the globe and some of the finest cutting-edge equipment currentely available they have reached the initial conclusion that Earth is in fact an Earth-like planet.

The fact that the Earth-like planet is 1000 light-years from us suggests that no one in our life-time will visit the planet to confirm or deny their findings. Good Job.

..........and any observer there looking back here would find an aggressive, primitive rabble. If they looked long enough they might even observe the Battle of Hastings live on their News at Ten broadcasts.

Exactly. Reason enough for intelligent life to be sought elsewhere, and verification to these life forms that this is where the loony bin is. So long as CR4 isn't in the middle of a pile-up for new usernames....
