Sunset on Mars Is Blue

05/16/2015 6:57 PM

I was going to volunteer for a Mars trip, ... but pink sky and blue sunsets are simply WRONG!

Maybe a requirement is "color blindness" for the 'trip-to-Mars' volunteers?

I know that thousands of people have declared their willing to go and live on Mars even if it will an "one way trip" (without ever returning back to Earth). Are you one of those, Rixter?

It could be interesting (for me) to go up there and stay for a while (a few months top) but to stay there forever is something "way out of limits". Don't forget that people there will have to live inside shielded buildings almost all the time (they'll be able to walk outside only for a while, wearing special, heavy astronaut outfits). Living inside the limited area of a building, all the time, with many other people seems to be extremely difficult and arduous (like the "Big Brother" game, but probably even worse). And whenever you walk outside, you'll be looking -always- at the same rough and rocky Martian environment. No trees, no flowers, no water. Nothing but the same reddish, boring desert. I'm afraid that sooner or later depression will come (or even insanity).

No, it was meant in jest. I usually use an emoticon, as humor doesn't come across well sometimes, but I forgot this time.

Okay... Good to know...

However, it's amazing how many people are willing to go on Mars and stay there forever...

Blue - until Douglas Quaid re-starts the turbinium reactor generating a new atmosphere - then we'll have an Earth like sunset.
