Design of RC Snubber for MV Switchgear

06/20/2015 1:56 AM

How to design the vales of capacitance & resistance in an RC Snubber to be used in Medium Voltage Switchgear. Please suggest values for 12kV, 24kV & 36kV. The purpose of the snubber is to clamp the switching transients from the VCB.

The protocols will be found in the design standards held by the company that manufactures them. A telephone call to that company will reveal more.
