Hey - remember - this is an engineering site, and English is a foreign language to engineers. At least that is what the Dean of Engineering at my school told me in 1968. We speak in numbers, formulas, and lines - right?

We've got a number of Brits on here, and I'm sure they are appalled by the way we Americans slaughter their language.

Kind of hard to hold up standards when they differ so much.

I can't picture me riding up to a meeting on a skateboard with a bunch of engineers who were born before 1950. "Eighty percent of the steak's appeal is in the sizzle!"
