My son works as a mechanic for a Dodge and KIA dealership and he says we should never buy a KIA. However he says the same thing about the Dodges, and for that matter, I've never heard him say any car is good. So taking that for what it is worth, I must say they sell a lot of those KIA Sorentos where he works and I have never heard him relate any serious issues with them as he has for models of his other brand.

Many moons ago when worked for Buick, as a mechanic, people would ask me. What's the best car to buy?" I told them to"stay away from makes and models that's either sitting along side the road or or being towed on a tow truck!!"

I tried to create them as links, but apparently the linking tool is not working this morning, or at least on my laptop.

If you copy and paste each link into a new tab, you should at least be able to get a good idea of the history of the Sorrento from a sales/engineer/executive view. I don't see any of these linking directly to, nor providing x-mile comments from y-number of owners, such as Consumer Reports provides. Of course, CR would be a good source, but they are subscription only.

I own one now. It has never failed to carry me where ever I needed to go. It is a 2011 with 60,000 miles so far. Oil change and new sneakers are the only money drain.

I once looked at one to buy but after I found the passenger door was not closing properly I left if where it was and never went back to look at another one.

Beware the age of the car or do you intent do buy new?

The only experience is due to having been "carved up" by one on the A59 in Lancashire last week. Still, at least it wasn't a Chevy Cavalier.
