The DP type is probably a good choice. You can likely find versions in which all the wetted portions are resistant to aqueous ammonia. I'm not sure, but I think SS316 is good for that. Many manufacturers of orifice plates, pressure transducers, fittings, etc. can offer or refer you to chemical compatibility charts.

Any of the following techniques is suitable:

  • Magnetic
  • Ultrasonic
  • Vortex-shedding
  • Variable area
  • Coriolis
  • DP across orifice, though it is soooooo 1973

Check with materials databases on the compatibility of wetted materials with the wetting agent.

Nowaday, many company start using vortex to replace orifice because less maintenance and cost to install maybe same with orifice especially if line below than 4 inch. You can compare the cost by asking the vendor to quote, but dont't forget to check other parts cost such as fitting, tubing, valve, manifold ctc that need to be installed with orifice.
