VTs & CCVTs Secondary Winding Resistance & Insulation Resistance Tests

01/28/2016 7:36 AM

Dear Professionals,

I would like to know what would be an acceptable range of VT & CCVTs Secondary Winding Resistance @ 1KV DC& Insulation Resistance 1KV DC as per Standard.

The VT is Rated at 145KV/Sqrt 3 : 110V/sqrt 3, Single Core.

The CCVT is rated the same as the VT but has 2 cores.

I know the CTs Secondary Winding Resistance is < 6 Ohms at 75C.

What do the norms that you are working with say about this? I can only give you numbers from the norms that I work with but that means nothing actually.

  1. Read the organisation's internally-published standard on the topic, or if that fails
  2. Look it up in the manufacturer's instructions, or if that fails
  3. Telephone the manufacturer and ask, or if that fails
  4. Ask a colleague who knows, preferably the one that has written or, better, authorised item 1 above, or if that fails
  5. Ask the individual doing the testing about experiences of similar work that has been carried out previously, or if that fails
  6. Talk to the local Human Resources contact about finding another job and let someone else carry out this task.
