New Bomb Vest Detection

03/23/2016 3:50 PM

I think this is a step in the right direction, and I hope range is increased to a convenient level. Then they could add an option to neutralize any device before they make all the way into the crowd.

And Lyn, you say this because in Brussels, they were apparently aware of two of the perpetrators, and did nothing to stop them? Today, I saw where the people were all being searched even upon entering the METRO building.

A better way to stop these attacks already exists. It is called, containment of the types that carry out these attacks and put security zones where they may not travel past the boundary without a full body search, and the inspectors will use lard lubricated latex gloves.

Yes, and we're still taking our shoes off in airports.

Does anybody even remember why we take our shoes off?

Shirley, you jest!

We remove our shoes to ensure our safety security sanity ... yeah, good question. Why DO we have to remove our shoes? Richard Reid (the Shoe Bomber) originated his flight in Paris... Why do the French get to keep their shoes? Do the airports in any country other than the USA enforce this?

Japan Air Lines? Seriously, it has to do with the "failed" shoe bomber. Based on taking off of shoes, it appears the thing was successful.

Misquote of the Day: Abraham Lincoln stated near the end of the Civil War, "Gen. Sheridan says 'If the thing is pressed I think Lee will surrender.' Let the thing be pressed." This was in reference to Grant's need to tidy up his uniform after a lengthy campaign in pursuit of Gen. Robert E. Lee's Army. [FALSE]

Lincoln was actually referring to the possibility of urging Lee's surrender, nothing to do with Grant's uniform.

So, we'll build a wall and make them pay for it?

Hopefully they can be miniaturized, produced in higher quantities at reduced cost, and automated where they could be located unattended outside of building entrances. The scanner could be set up to lock the entrance if a threat is detected before the perpetrator could enter.
