Daily Digest Link Problem

09/06/2016 4:12 AM

Has anyone else had problems accessing posts from the Daily Digest? For the past couple of days, if I click on a link to a post in the Daily Digest e-mail I get a web page with an error message:-

Invalid URL

The requested URL "[no URL]", is invalid.

Reference #9.e091002.1473149008.c5fa7dc

If I go to the CR4 web page & select the link from there it opens OK. I also have no problem with clicking through from e-mails advising new posts to subscribed threads or private messages.

Just noticed it. I had to go to the CR4.globalspec.com page to get in.

I am getting same thing. It started Saturday. It seemed to start after I subscribed to Engineering 360 news and product alerts.

The process to subscribe required me to enter my email and a password.

I thought that being a cr4 member allowed access to all functions of cr4 & engineering 360.

In the past ( before Saturday ) I would go to my email account ( Gmail) go to promotions, view cr4 questions, then I could open a link and post an answer or opinion.

Now when I click on the link, I get the invalid URL message with reference # 9.467a0660.1473166387.14717b60

Is there a way that I can contact the administrator at cr4 to find a solution to this issue ?

I haven't changed my subscriptions in any way, I'm hoping that the administrators see this post, couldn't see how to contact them directly.

Thanks everyone for bringing this problem to our attention. I guess this is what happens when moderators try to take a weekend off!

I have reported the issue and hopefully it will be resolved soon. I'll post again when I hear that it has been fixed.

There was a problem with our email provider over the weekend. It has been resolved, but due cache issues, it could take up to 24 hours to be fixed for everyone.

Thanks! I only had the issue for a few hours, as far as I Know.

I DO still have to click with the mouse (actually a trackpad), in the Reply Message Box before I can begin to type my reply.

FWIW, MacBook Pro, FireFox 48.0.1

Ill try again with Safari.

Aha! I didn't have to click in the reply box for Safari.

I switched from Safari to Firefox many years ago, as Safari didn't have the toolbar. Now that Safari has the toolbar, perhaps I should switch back...

This time, MacBook Pro with OS 10.11.6 (as it was on the previous post), but this time with Safari 9.1.2

I am not able to get Daily Digest link to work for me at all, but once subscribed to a discussion, I do get notices.

Just be glad you don't have a red star by your name or somebody might give you 2 points for a good answer.

I had the issue and thought it was a problem with our internet connection (I was accessing it from work) but it seems to be working fine now. If I went to the Engineering 360 page, everything worked fine but the links in the email didn't.

Same happened to me but other mail would open so I ignored it and came back a day after and everything is fine so I assume a glitch in the cr4 system.
