Emails Won't Delete

I'd buy the full box idea, if the 40 or so other emails I received, some before, some after, hadn't deleted, but they did, and so did other ones received later today.

Once re-opened the suspect emails went right to the deleted "box" (the little garbage can). Note - I did not dump the other emails in there when I closed and re-opened, as I wanted to review before totally deleting, so it appears to have nothing to do with how much is in there.

I believe my IT department would not like me "fixing" Outlook on my own. I'll suggest that to them.

Do you have any filtering rules set up that might supersede the deleted items?

Company has filtering big time on incoming and junks them before I get them. After receipt - nothing. I've never put on any filters either, except for blocking a few annoying incoming.

It sounds like a problem with your Outlook client. Have you tried accessing your account through your organization's webmail link? Give that a shot, although it wouldn't help if the problem is a full deleted items bin as SolarEagle suggested.

A new windows update came to my desk on Friday. Could be something in it for outlook that caused it.

If so, there is nothing floating around on the internet about it yet. First thing our IT tech did, was what I did - Google the situation and see what others have said/done.

Stumps me. One of my older computers at home has about 14,000 unread emails in the inbox, I want to set a record.

A few months ago, my yahoo mail did the same thing. I cleared out my delete folder and a few CR4 emails wouldn't clear. Actually, let me correct that. They would disappear and then a minute or less they'd come back.

I never figured out what happened and the few emails remaining didn't bother me.

If you figure this out, let me know. I'd like to clear out the remaining emails.

Yeah - thanks all. I think my Outlook is going downhill fast. Today I got notices of overdue meetings, one was 119 weeks overdue. All of them were most definitely removed from the calendar, well, 119 weeks ago for one, and various lengths of time for the others.

Help! IT Department - we got an issue here.

I have the opposite problem at least temporarily on a laptop that is infrequently used. When Outlook is synchronizing inboxes (between devices?), I have had the entire content of folders like "projects" disappear, then reappear later.

Go figure.
