Cold Fusion or Smoke and Mirrors?

Cold Fusion was back in the news again earlier this year due to some results that seem to demonstrate higher energy output than is possible through just plain old chemical reactions. There are serious red flags around it though starting with the person who is behind the experiment, Andrea Rossi. I find the whole saga a bit interesting.

Commercial LENR may be going public soon

The above link has nothing to do with Rossi. As I understand it, the Rossi E-Cat makes use of more of a transmutation, that does release some energy. I also understand the complications of attempting to do meaningful calorimetry work on the E-Cat.

Thanks for the links. Who knows what comes next? Mitsubishi Heavy Industry seems to think it is worth pursuing further. Brillouin Energy also. I would say, don't give up until the whole choir of fat ladies is singing.
