Wouldn't the calculations for that be in one of your textbooks from school?

I know. Do you think I will get an answer to my question?

This kind of situation is either, 1) I have been put in a position to do something I am not qualified for or 2) My resume' says that I am qualified, but not really, and I need to act like I know what I am doing before they find out!

Hey - I got through all of my jobs that way. Higher education teaches very little applicable to the real world, except how to find answers to what you don't know. Most companies don't even know what they really need from an employee, so you get in the door, and learn as you go. I know where he is coming from with that question.

Wait, you installed the 5000A bus bar system a few months ago and now you are looking into short circuit calculation. Before this you asked about minimum clearances, again AFTER the bus bar system had already been installed!

Please describe bus bar short circuit current calculation

"Too late".

Hire someone qualified to do the work before something really bad happens.

The electrical engineer or the electrician installing the equipment already knows the math calculations.

Your in over your head and a danger to everybody in the plant. Electricity is not forgiving, once the magic smoke is released there's no going back and your cooked.

So, stop where your at and hire at least an electrician and have it safely installed so everyone go home to their families

Your bus represents a conduit through which electricity flows. It is impossible to describe what will happen to the conduit without detailed knowledge of it and the electrical supply conditions. Short circuit conditions might trip a breaker, melt the bus, cause an explosion, etc. Details matter.
