all the manufacturer mentioned, the wall thickness referred from ASME B16.34

is any other alternate method for calculate the same?

All valves are supplied with a pressure rating, so there is no need to calculate the wall thickness on the avenue of either re-design or of design verification; such activity would be abstruse.

The valve manufacturer will be able to supply thickness information over the telephone for any particular valve, should the need arise, however, the best way to establish the dimension is to measure it on the valve in question.

Why? That's like asking how to calculate the insulation thickness of a conductor.

You don't need this information unless the valve is coming from a really crappy supplier and is unmarked and unavailable (if such a thing even exists on the market), but you shouldn't be purchasing from them anyway if fluid pressure is an issue.

You start →here← and buy these, no calculations necessary

This guy is still trying to figure out how a "butterfly"valve operates and now he has graduated to valve wall QC, hum?

Don't you have anything more important to worry about?

If it's a wafer type, thickness more likely to be limited by seat area etc than pressure. If it's flanged, designing the flanges is more critical than the body thickness, but you can be sure the maker has taken care of that.

...and the type-testing.

Quite.

Once upon a time, the Navy decided to design a check valve and ASME code was considered too conservative. So it was designed using an alternate design basis that didn't require all that wasteful conservatism. When the check valve was built, it wouldn't work because under pressure the valve inflated like a balloon and the seating surfaces went out of alignment. ASME code not only considers pressure wall function, but includes conservatism to maintain structural alignment so that the component will function.

If you do use an alternate method, make sure you have enough FEA capability to ensure that deflection under load will not render the design non-functional.

If you look at my reply (#3), you would realize I was civil replying to a dumb arse question. Now, if you are so bent on figuring out wall thickness of a butterfly valve or any valve you need to invest in both inside and outside micrometers and learn how to read them. They'll take the guesswork out of the equation. Have a great day or night, where ever you're located in the world.
