Hi,

Can outdoor tennis court flood lights be fed by a feeder pillar?

Thanks

I didn't know what, " tennis courts lamps " were until I went to Google and saw that there were a thousand different types.

Sure why not....Seems a rather expensive option though.....unless you have a whole slew of tennis courts....

Even if the feeder pillar is controlled by photocell and time switch?

Like others have said, it might be too expensive.

Why not search in here: RS components. There are lots of options to choose from.

Or "Products and Suppliers" above the toolbar of IEEE?

Depending on your budget, search panel assembly sort of things. That's the simplest project an electrical guy could do.

No. There is no power in the pillar itself. Now, depending on the skills and authority of the electrician you hire and the budget you give them, the power line supported by the pillar can probably be used to power these flood lights. Remember to coordinate with your power provider because that feeder may be powering many others.

Is it possible to feed lights of a tennis court by a feeder pillar even if the feeder pillar is controlled by a photocell/time switch?

Sure, if the cell/switch turns the lights on at night.

Something tells me you are just serving net balls and should look for a new line of work, 'cause you're out of your league in lighting and controls.

Who owns the pillar? Ask them to put a timer switch in it. Sell 'em on the idea by suggesting such will limit their lighting bill to only such times as the court(s) is(/are) being used at night.

If you own the pillar, contact a qualified electrician to install a timer switch, having an external knob that users can operate. He'll wire its series with the photo-control. Problem solved.

You hire a qualified electrician because you are not qualified to do this work.

This is what may happen if you do it:

YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED!

..

Lyn ...the guy in your pic is wearing a colored jumpsuit, work boots and has a Bucket Boss bag.. A pro sparky I'm sure. all signs point to yes.

The world is full of idiots.. Some of them are professional. Even so.. they can't all be coming here for suggestions?. But you seem to think so.. Why is that? It seems you must have been you surrounded by incompetent fools your entire life? That or they are all dead or in jail from accidents.

..Care to guess how many potential happy new members of CR4 you've chased off by treating them like idiots over the years? Several per week I'm sure.. (too bad for CR4 and its followers)

Is your tongue permanently lashing?

Please let people experience the joy of asking questions.. gaining knowledge and experience!

of course you won't read this as you've unsubscribed.. (phew)

A fantastic invention is available for this function. But possibly being the age you are, you know nothing about this magnificent electrical device.

Google: SWITCH.

Is this going to be motion activated? Some players might not move enough to keep the lights on.

Sorry, but this thread and the empowerment being offered here by members is the same as handing a loaded gun to a blind man and telling him to shoot at the first noise he hears.

or you could feed them caterpillars. Wouldn't the tennis court look odd, and be somewhat dangerous with a big feeder pillar in the middle of the net?
