Hi E,

Have been down this path, two companies to look at -

1. NI - Simply the best with Lab View ..................

http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3732

2. Cognex - Well used, have stand alone units, at fair price.....

http://www.cognex.com/

<you own visual control system in your company?>

Security monitoring with video cameras-- like in Supermarkets? Where are you?

Clarify-and there will be replies.

For what purpose? Surveillance, inspection, motion control, etc., you need to be specific.

<visual control system in your company>

You need to be more specific. Are you talking about a system for security, for a continual update on what's going on in production, or simple a visual management system?

In my other life I was a lighting tech in the entertainment (music and such) industry.

We used headsets like these.

In our side, we use kind of color posters (11" x 17") that highlight sequence of toggle or button with colors and/or ID.

Every items that should be actuated by operators are color or ID coded (A,B,C,...).

You could highlight too the inspection zones or sensitive items.

In any case, you should consider people's training with good explanation in case of failure to follow the instructions (cost for rework, safety issues, overcharge, etc...).

Never think that stupid proof method exempt you about training (a real stupid proof method do not exist).
