I need to install a Honeywell D/P transmitter for steam service with 500F max temp and 250psig pressure. However the transmitter meter body can only withstand up to 257F only. For my application, do I reaaly need to buy a diaphragm seals or I can just install the transmitter with condensate pots. Please advise.

Use condensate pots. What we do is to pre-fill the impulse lines with condensate before opening the steam valve.

Then, don't ever open the drain valve on the impulse lines before the steam has been shut off. You'll be introducing live-steam into your transmitter and that will kill it.

Vulcan is so right. Go to Spirax site & click on flow meters. You will find the condensate pots.
