In a Windows 10 OS, using version 1.8.2, supposedly using the updated libraries, I had been having fits over a simple load cell sketch with LCD 20x4 display, and a data logger shield with real time clock (RTC). All of the problems results in cryptic error messages for the file verify step before uploading, all revolving around Library files, and all were while using a marginal memory HP laptop (blue one).
I finally decided the laptop had had it, and moved on to my desktop in my home office, and the mods to the file compiled flawlessly in the first go! Next I tried my older laptop, a Gateway (grey/black), will loads of memory available (780 GB??), and it worked flawlessly as well.
Obviously my questions follow:
(1) what is up with (blue) HP laptop, given failure to verify files, and frequent error messages about memory usage on a 32 GB system (supposedly with 1 TB on the cloud, but I have been extremely shy about using the cloud, and not really sure how to use it anyway.)
(2) I have found only up to about 1 GB worth of my files, including emails, pictures, MS Office files, and Arduino Libraries and sketches. So is Microsoft playing with my noggin by backing up constantly to C:/ volume and taking up all the disk? Or what?
I have probably purchased my last anything from HP.
