which form of nanoquartz you are talking about for what use?
Conventional use of very fine powdered quartz was to make fingerprints visible.
This was done with the powder that condenses from evaporated quartz durning quartz glass manufacture.
Another form is the 20nm particles of silicic-acid (quartz with water) fabricated by hydrolysis of TEOS or other organic precursors. See for SYTON from Monsanto.
This material is used as binder in precision casting as polishing agent for silicon and hard oxides.
A third form is the AEROSIL from Degussa that is used in laquers and plasics to change the friction coefficient and to introduce thixotropic behaviour.
