outlook is syncronozing folders

does anybody else deal with their xp2003 hanging while this action takes place. I have seen a few web logs, but the answers do not seem to help. Is it possible to stop this action all together? Is it possible to schedule it?

Oooowww no I haven't heard of it.... but I'd be interested in hearing how to stop it..

I get so frustrated when 'things' start to happen in the computer and task manager doesn't let you know why all of a sudden you're creeping along at a snail's pace, so anyone with an answer please?
