I have heard the phrase Midlife Crisis, and something like that may be in play here. I can be sort of a late bloomer sometimes.
I have an opportunity to buy a Chrysler Crossfire sport car. Low miler 2004 (first year of production), well maintained, very good shape, priced very reasonably. Reviews are generally very complimentary, seems to not be a maintenance money pit. Doorman’s Chick loves it.

My concerns: The car was only produced for five years, and had an entire production (all variants) of about 76,000 cars worldwide. While reviews indicate most people like their car very much, there seem to be a lot of them for sale in USA, and at what seems bargain prices.
So… this midlife crisis. Have any of you carried out a desire to replay a part of your younger self with such a purchase? Were you too concerned about eventual maintenance or repair issues, likely depreciation, or that some of your compatriots would see you as, well, an old fart suffering through a midlife crisis? Or, did you just buy it and have fun, caution to the wind?
Bonus question – What did you get, and what color was it?
Boat, motorcycle, fast car, motorized ultralight plane…
