How Cool is This

I just watched a minute.

It expensive, but it looks like an invaluable tool that didn't exist. Companies that box anything must have boxes printed or labels made for everything sold by the pallet.

This will be in a lot of warehouses saving companies large and small a lot of hassle and money.

Is there a stock to watch?

I have to agree. If you have to mark a lot of stuff every day, this thing will pay for itself in no time.

Imagine if it got in the wrong hands (like mine).... There would be a lot of stuff marked around town.. Idiot parkers for one.

Me too! ...just think you can actually program anything into the printer...I could put my logo on everything....you could print your own t-shirts...change the picture after every wash haha...print peoples' house number on their curb or mailbox...but seriously for labeling materials and boxes this would be great....

Just wait til political candidates get their hands on it.

I bet someone could hack one together with a rasperry pi or arduino, some ink jet heads and an optical mouse sensor.

Marking 6,000 plus assets in a Water Treatment Plant just got so much easier than sticky barcodes (that don't stick) or SS tags that arrive weeks after the plant is completed and then have to be manually matched to each item.

You are right. I have not seen that before and its very clever.

But does it have an eraser function?

Any cleanup between colors, or does it work like an inkjet print head?

When I was working at a Kaiser (aluminum) tubing/pipe manufacturing facility, we had a labeler that imprinted the specs/bar code on each piece as it came off the line.

This is a nice adaptation of that technology, but it is not that "advanced"!
