Antique Kochs Barber Chair Won't Raise or Lower

04/11/2018 7:59 AM

I have a 1890-1910 Kochs Barber chair that will not raise or lower, it has a screw in the side of the porcelain base that seems to be designed to lock the Piston in place. It also doesn't appear to have any type of reservoir for hydraulic fluid. Can anyone direct me to a diagram of the assembly of this type of pump so I can at least see if my pump is complete?

Search "barber chair" in Community and you'll find a bunch of posts about Kochs or Kochen barber chairs. You might find an answer in these old posts.

Given the inherent unreliable nature of <...Kochs Barber chair...> equipment as expressed by this and by numerous previous posts in the forum, unless the item has historical artefact value the best course of action could be to replace it with something else; it may have a value on the previously-enjoyed <...Barber chair...> market to someone else, perhaps.

Does this come into the category of duplicate threads?
