I'd have thaught hydaulic would be more controllable and powerfull.

(not sure how to read 'tube od 25.4mm and 31.75mm thickness 1.6mm ' )

(I reserve the right to be completely wrong...on this one)

DTC,

I beleiv he is listing 2 diameters; 25.4 & 31.7 mm. Both are of the same wall thickness at 1.6mm.

This is thin walled stuff and I would not bother with a pneumatic or a hydraulic. But judging by what I read this is new to him.

Blimey I'd just stick my tail down 'em to stop 'em pinching and bend 'em with my paws!

You would be better off buying a new power bender all together. Or at least convert to hydraulics. We have tube benders here at work, I can get the information tohelp you in your needs. All our power benders are in place and can accomodate a 20' section of tube for detailed, complexed bends. Since you are only bending up 1.25" tubing, you would need to have a couple sets of blocks to bend both types on the same unit.

the tubing will be bent individually in the form of an elongated c in the case of tubing 25.4mm diameter by 1.6mm wall thickness. both sides to be bent at the same time. we are in the manufacture of desks and the bend is 90 degrees at both sides. the 31.75 mm diameter by 1.6mm wall thickness has three 90 degree bends to it .the 1st two is done first and then the last which in fact is 86 degrees (will use seperate bender for 85 degree bend)

With those dimensions you can actually rig a very simple jig and operate by a foot press. I cannot draw it for you now but it is VERY simple.

You can obtain high production rates with no E consumption. I dont know what kind of rates you are looking for, but if you are a serious jammer then yeah automation is a must. But if not, re-think it. I know for a fact you can obtain some really good yields manually. But again you might very well be beyond that.

But what I am hearing is similar to some one asking what the best CNC lathe is for making washers.

But I guess it all depends on your business model.

wishing you successes,

Charles

p.s. Technically it is tubing.

Go the easy way and do it on ebay.

Been looking and bough on ebay a Greenlee brand that can fit most any application.

My plan is to take one of these poswer benders and roll a coil for a boiler.

You should never use Pneumatics for such equipment, too dangerous.

If you MUST power it, then please follow the advice of the other members and go for Hydraulics only....

Air, in the wrong hands, is far more dangerous than hydraulics.

Also, having used both over the years, I find that the hydraulic allows finer control somehow....but that is a personal like only......

Hydraulic ones are usually in Europe more expensive though.....

I had forgotten that!!! Good film.

I guess we all have our preferences in such machines one way or the other....
