Can you suggest some platforms for online photography courses?

I wonder why you would post this question on an Engineering forum?

There are loads of photography forums around with people that know much more about this than the average visitor of this forum...

I always tell people who are wondering about anything to do with photography to start with Ken Rockwell's website. It is packed with information about photography, equipment reviews, how-to discussions, etc., and dozens of links to other photography sources.

Another alternative is any of the several photography courses available through TheGreatCourses.com as streamed, or via DVD...

Find and join a local camera club, the members will give help and advice.

Be warned, photography is infectious! It started as a hobby for me and for over ten years it became 1/3 of my income.

My habit became a third of my out go with no income! At least with a DSLR it cuts the film/processing costs. A crumby weekend was 3 or 4 36 exp rolls and a good evening at the races was 8 0r 10 rolls! But I go some good shots from time to time. I was adicted to action shots, never any good at the artsy stuff. Had a couple of friends that were better in that area. Bonnie would get the good romatic shots at a wedding, I got the expression on the grooms face when he first saw the bride, She got the girl that caught the boquet posing with it, I got it in mid flight with 30 hands grabbing for it. I got a formation of cars coming out of trun 2 with a car right in the middle backwards. Lot of fun, lot of film, too! -- JHF
