It can be a number of different things. Can other people print or is it just you? If it's just you, it's probably a configuration problem.

When you select Add printer, try having your computer search for the printer. If it doesn't find it, then it's a good bet that you won't get anything printed.

Can you communicate with other computers? It might be a Workgroup problem. You may be a member of a different workgroup.

Don't you have a System Administrator? This would be the person in charge of the network and the computers. He/she would know how to fix your problem.

i myself always encount the problem that the net printer being not workable. That may be

1.Too many compute connect to the printer that reach to the connect limit

2. check the in LAN, if there are any connect problem

3.Perhaps you can reboot the conpute

The above may be the problems. I faces this problem regularly when we restart our print server. This is normaly a login problem. just try to access the printer in the folloing way:

click start>run>\\print server name press ok

U will c hare Shared printers on the server, just double click the printer icon y will be able to use it

Now the problem may be that u r not able to access the shared components of print server. in this case u have to check for permission on the server.

Next problem may be one of discussed above
