Over a year ago I bought a cheap ebike, and except for a few small teething problems, it has been a very enjoyable and trusty steed! I was very happy with it!!
Even though I had ridden it several times in the rain, a raging rain storm a few weeks ago somehow got water in the LCD display, which is also the controlling computer, which sent wrong signals to the power transistor unit, hidden in the frame, and has caused a short circuit. One that I will try to locate and fix this coming winter.
So I decided to purchase the exact same unit as a replacement. I found the company, I have emailed their intermediary companies that actually apparently handle sales. Not a single reply.....
Furthermore, this unit is apparently not available as a spare part anywhere in the world that Google can find!!
Though I am MOST hopeful that one of you can prove me wrong on that score!!
The unit label is shown here:-

I can honestly say that ANYONE buying an e-bike, should make sure that they DO NOT buy one with anything from this company, as if it goes wrong, you are on "s**t Street!"
Look out for the Logo, top left in the picture, DMHC, almost unrecognisable, and if you see that DON'T BUY!!
The version I have is the TC488 by number, but the same company makes many different versions, this is simply the top of the range one, and is apparently ONLY supplied to various manufacturers of e-bikes, in China......nobody else!
My one hope is that someone will sell on ebay a secondhand unit from a bike that somehow got destroyed....but till then, it looks like I will have to get the soldering iron out and try to repair the one I have!
I have also searched on ebay here (but no further afield, which I just realised I must do!) for an "equivalent" from other manufacturers, but they are all simpler, with less features.....
So I have ordered one of these "lesser" versions, to maybe get me going, as I am a very motivated e-bike rider for almost 8 years now.....and I really miss the electric assistance (72 today!!)
Any assistance/thoughts will be most welcome.
