Membership Type?

09/29/2007 3:06 PM

I just checked and my membership Type is set to Ham Radio, as it should be. So why am I getting all these emails from the Musician member group? How do I change that?

Ken

You can't. Since most musicians are considered hams, it just logically follows.

Hams are using Morse-keys and musicians also use lots of keys, even keyboards, that's the solution...

Can't I just use the hole under the rug like Dede does?

Maybe it's a tuning problem.

Maybe it's the reference to RADIO and the call letters WKKG (in cincinatti).

There dyslexic and keep missing the A2 between the letters.

Hi Ken

Right now there is only one Hobbies user group, with each of the different options (ham radio, musician, etc) being part of that group. As it stands today CR4 will send out user group notifications for any change to anyone in the same user group as you (Hobbies). When a single "sub-group" gets big enough we may split it out into its own dedicated user group, and then you would only get notified about those changes, but until then you'll hear about them all. I figure the net impact on recipients isn't all that high, and hearing about those other CR4 members might create a connection where there wasn't one before.

At any rate, at this time there is no way to disable the user group membership change notifications, but if more people request it then we'll consider it.

Thanks
- Mark

Well, I have to admit there have been some pretty funny responses to my question from the Musicians. I thought that musicians were always jammin, but it looks like they spend a fair amount of time hammin as well.

I'm glad to know that I'm not missing any posts in the Hobbies forum from my fellow hams. They must all be on the radio since I haven't seen any recent posts from them.

Thanks,

Ken
