Historically, people have used water white rosin to cement lenses
together to make achromats. I use a clear silicone adhesive + a primer
to cement lenses to diving masks for underwater optics, there may be
epoxies that are clear enough for this application, and lastly, there
is crazy glue. Depends on the strength you need and the environmental
conditions. Another tip; many chemists are offended by the term "glue".
They are more comfortable when you use the term, "adhesive".
You may be able to find something in a local hobby store. But if you want a professional grade adhesive, there are many suppliers of optical cement. Some are UV curable, some are 2 part epoxy. The choice depends upon your requirements. Do you need strength? Is the glass to be used over a wide temperature range? etc.
Search the web or Google for "optical Cement". Or search cr4.globalspec .
Two companies which you might try are Master Bond or Summers. Look for adhesives which bond lenses, prisms, or optical fibers.
Call the suppliers and discuss your specific needs with them and let a technical representative suggest an appropriate adhesive for your use.
2 part acrylic adhesive works well & is transparent. Application is by having an activator on one surface & the adhesive on the other, sets in a few minutes.
I'm not sure if it would tend to go yellow with age?
