How come I cannot type in the message box?

Hi

I have heard of problems where the editor didn't function at all, but I've never heard of garbage being entered when real characters are typed (which is what I assume happened to your post). We have good success with the Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers, so please try one of them. If you are already using one of them, try the other one.

I have a feeling we are going to have a hard time communicating via this thread, so please consider sending an email to cr4admin@globalspec.com and we'll see what we can figure out.

I would like to say thanks for everybody give a fast feed back on my problem. Anyhow I'm a little bit busy this few day that why a bit late reply on this issues. Anyhow, I would like to share with everybody I'm using IE ver. 7.0.5700.6. This morning (m'sia time), after open this thread I found have not any problem anymore to type in body message as previous. Also have done to do a testing when click on "Ask a question" button. So, the problem already solve but I didnt't understand yet what is the cause of that? Whatever thank for everybody on your support.

I guess you used a font which rarely use at this forum. and the forum dont support the font type so that you got a garbage form. try to choose universal font.

I have met this issue before when I use some chinese font sets, I got a strange picture.

os is very strange sometimes it has problem and not long, it has become good. I ty to learn from software specialist, and they also dont know what happed.

Actually I didn't change any setting on my PC or upgrade any patches. The only thing everything suddenly come to normal..

My collegue also facing same problem, so I think would like seek the problem

I suggest you check your font set in use and code would be unicode-8, not -7 or other sets.

sometines, certain program can change your set atomaticlly. after you restart, it has itself repaired which you dont know any more.

Here is a late thought for Zam or colleagues. If the problem arises again, there is one way to post a message : Type up error details in something like 'Paint' and then post it as a single JPG (or similar) image. It's an awkward way of doing things, but at least they could communicate more about the nature of the problem.

paste is a not bad way to solve the problem. I have ever use this way when there was someting wrong with my system .

but if the program communicated with sever hasnt put an end to, you will not paste any more.

I remember I post a thread for help at this thing. but no respond. I ananlysis and think it msy somethings wrong with browse, becasue I chech system files, no problem, its must be some socket program goes wrong, I use netscape browser instesad of IE, and find it work well. I reinstall IE, then it work well again.

The last thing I will do is reinstall system. but not long before, I hve to do it, cause the system collipse. it waste me lots of time, inspite the data hasnt lost.

another thing si check your firewall. sometime it will cause problem .

it block port, so tht your client program cnnt communicate with sever, or interrupt this communicatioon.

if you cnant get complete sever program. you cannt get box and connt print word in it.

however, you would check clearly either line, or your files of system, especially sockets.

Hi Guest, hopefully Mark (mgaulin) has resolved this issue for you. Can you make a post back here some time to clarify if it worked. I'm assuming that you can enter in the title field, but words entered in the message body don't appear as you input them ? There is some kid of formatting function within the editor box, though I've never used it. Using the "Search all of CR4" box to the right with the search word 'Editor' may lead you to threads where this has been discussed. Alternatively is this a question related to programming in general ? ( If the latter, then maybe stuff like this is of use.)
