That or bad winding insulation / turn-to-turn short on the same winding (not going to ground).

Have you checked the volts and amps on each phase? Any imbalances?

I suppose it's possible the s-phase sensor is faulty. Do they all read the same when the motor is cold (unenergized)?

You might have a very unhappy spider in the motor wiring.

It would be an EX-spider by now...

6 kV is three times the nominal bug zapper voltage. You're right, that spider is long gone. I wonder what is the resistivity of an exoskeleton.

Hi Asser

What do you use to measure the phase temperature of the motor winding?

NTC, PTC semiconductor, Thermister, Thermocouple, RTD. any of which can be out of calibration or failing.

Have seen RTDs fail slowly in 6.6KV fan motors.

If you can measure the windings resistance and inductance when the motor has just been shut down but still hot that may give you some results to work with.

You could hire a contractor to carry out a DLA, diaelectric loss angle test on the motr if you suspect a motor problem.

Regards Stef.

if the motor not working should be check the sensor but if the motor working should be check the current in each phase if the current not symmetrical check the motor

Yes. Someone local and armed with test equipment can. If that individual is not on the staff, then it may be worthwhile hiring someone.

what is the sensor?platinum Resistance Temp(RTD).Check the lead wire and Socket .many possibilities are there.
