Keep in mind that when you start putting faxes onto the Internet, you may no longer be meeting privacy requirements for certain classes of information like medical records and the similar data.

The Internet does not offer the same level of privacy as Ma Bell. We could debate whether that is REALLY the case, but in the eyes of government regulators, it does make a difference.

Step 1 is to use the IP Telephone facility to talk to the supplier of that facility, and to ask what is involved and how much it costs.
