Sense you don't say what your using it for... try a woodworking shop. they have them for checking the condition of wood. not too expensive either.

Hi Labyguy,

I need it to measure the RH of air inside a chamber. I think the one in woodworking shop measuring the water content of wood. It is not suitable. Do you have any suggestion?

thanks

You can buy REALLY cheap ones that sit on the desk top, digital display of %RH and temperature, about £5 or $10, runs on one AAA battery for years!!

John.

Hi John,

The cheaper one usually can measure 30% up. I need to measure the RH from 5%. Do you have other suggestion in mind?

thanks

Check Globalspec for RH meters, transmitters, monitors, etc. Also, check out Omega, namely, Thermo-Hygrometer, Very High Performance 2-98%

IMHO, the best buy in Hygrometers is the chilled mirror type (GE/General Eastern) and others). We use them because they are primary standards and therefore require no calibration. We have purchased several used ones on eBay, and are pleased with their performance. The laser ring down type is the latest technology, but rather expensive. You also need to consider sources of contamination in your gas sample, as well as other gasses with higher vapor pressure than water.

Digital hygrometers used for monitoring humidor relative humidity are available from various on-line sources in the $25.00 - $30.00 range.

Google or Yahoo humidor hygrometer.
