Copper Busbar Size

Please tell me the size of copper busbar suitable for carrying 3000 Amps, design ambient temp=35 deg C, permissible temp rise over ambient=50 deg C, final working temp=85 deg C.

Refer to the organisation designing the equipment and get them to explain how they sized it.

Look here. They list a variety of dimensions with current carrying capacity (Ampacity).

Please advise AC or DC, indoor/outdoor/enclosed/insulated?

Do you want to use a single bar or multiples?

What section - flat/round/hollow/solid?

busbar is enclosed in the panel. it will be rectangular type.

Assuming ac 50 or 60Hz

For single bar use 200x12 (8"x1/2") or 160x16 (61/2"x5/8")

For multiple bars use 4 off 75x6 or 3 off 100x6

Depend what you are connecting to.
